This patented design has been developed over many years to enable the discharge of bulk material that would normally cause problems or no flow in a conventional silo with a conical bottom.
The Tratec Solutions hydraulically operated frame is designed to create mass flow for these materials in flat-bottomed silos.
The flat-bottomed design makes it possible to reduce the total silo height with benefits such as: compact silos, lower wind load, easier concept customisation, etc. The flat bottom also allows for a larger discharge opening if needed. The sliding frame feeder is hydraulically driven and uses minimal energy to achieve the required output capacity.
The sliding frame only moves so much that the bulk material loosens (material bridges are broken) and falls into the feeder screw. Wear is therefore reduced to a minimum.
Due to the simple construction, with few moving parts, an efficient and reliable function has been achieved. The sliding frame is in use for many types of dispensing operations all over the world.
FORWARD AND REVERSE SLIDING FRAME:
The sliding frame moves back and forth in a linear motion across the silo floor. It feeds material using the vertical surfaces of the frame, down into the chute above the progressive discharge auger. The knife wall on the other side of the frame slides under the material on the return movement. This helps to break material bridges and provides a smooth flow out of the silo.
Energy consumption is considerably lower than with other dispensing systems. The sliding frame provides no unnecessary mechanical handling. The energy consumption is only that which is sufficient to break material bridges and further transport the material out of the silo. Therefore, the parts inside the silo are exposed to very little wear and tear. Service and maintenance of the hydraulic components and discharge auger can be carried out without the silo being emptied.
Sliding frames are available in a wide range of dimensions and arrangements, for different tasks. some are made to feed into ongoing processes, others are used to collect material and load directly onto vehicles for road or rail.
RECIPROCATING (OSCILLATING) SLIDING FRAME:
The oscillating sliding frame consists of a circular frame with dimensions equal to the inner diameter of the silo. In this circular frame, specially made profiles are mounted radially, as in a fan, towards the centre of the silo, where they are connected in a bearing.
The frame oscillates around this point. The profiles are arranged in such a way that the material in the silo is transported towards the discharge auger, which is under the centre of the silo. The oscillating movement is driven by hydraulic cylinders that are connected to the outer ring of the frame.
