Charging-tube-1

The charging equipment consists of feeding buckets and pipes for controlled filling of the raw material mixture into the oven process.

This oven has ten cooking positions. Each position has a separate furnace vessel and tube. The feed tubes rotate to achieve a good distribution of charge mixture around the electrodes, thereby reducing the need for firing.

Correction material is fed through the same system by means of a by-pass channel in each oven container.

The ten furnace bins are placed in two rows, with five bins on each side of the furnace, located on the electrode floor. The centre tube bake is larger since 25-30 % of the total bake consumption goes through the centre tube. The centre vessel has no bypass channel, as corrections are only made in the feed positions. Each hopper for the feeders has a bypass channel with a separate inlet. This allows correction material to be quickly loaded to the desired electrode(s), as the hopper design will prioritise material feeding from the bypass channels.

The vibrating feeders transport material from the kiln hopper outlet into the rotating feeder tube, one feeder per hopper/tube. The vibrating feeder chassis is driven by two unbalanced vibration motors. The vibrating feeder is supported on damping coil springs, which form a flexible transition to a fixed support structure. The weight of the vibrating feeder is precisely balanced with the vibration motors to provide optimal transport and service life.
