Since March, we have been on a service assignment at Eramet Titanium & Iron's smelter in Tyssedal. At the smelter, we have carried out service and maintenance, as well as various rebuilds and repairs of machines. The work has mainly consisted of reviewing conveyor belts, creating a service report and rectifying faults and defects discovered along the way.
On such assignments, it's important to maintain good HSE routines and focus on ensuring that we carry out the work in a safe and responsible manner. Eramet has a wide range of equipment, and during an overhaul shutdown like this, a lot of work is being carried out by many parties around the factory. It is therefore very important that safety measures and communication between contractors and hiring managers are followed up in a good way. By following routines and having good communication, we prevent injuries to personnel and equipment.
At Tratec, we have more than 75 years' experience of servicing and manufacturing materials handling equipment, and our knowledge forms the basis for good HSE work.
In addition to our extensive experience, all Tratec Solutions employees undergo internal training before such a project starts. Equipment and machinery are not used until documented training has been completed and signed. Our focus is that when decisions are made and processes are initiated, both employees and customers should be confident that HSE is taken care of at all stages.
ETI CEO Fernando Ramos says:
«The company in Tyssedal greatly appreciates the long-term cooperation we have had with Tratec, and during this year's audit shutdown. Tratec has demonstrated a high level of expertise and a positive focus on safety.».
