Yara selects Tratec Solutions

We know what we get when we use Tratec Solutions.

So says Jan Erik Nyrud, Head of Procurement and Contracts at Yara's factories in Porsgrunn.

For more than 20 years, the company has regularly purchased conveyor systems from what used to be Tratec Agdermaskin and from Roxel Energy at Forus in Stavanger.

These two centres of expertise are now united in one company - Tratec Solutions.

- WE ARE OF COURSE excited about the merger, but expect the same quality of deliveries and service," says Nyrud.

The last conveyor belts for the time being were delivered from Nodeland to the Yara factory in August 2020. In the same autumn, the Stavanger branch installed a coupling avator and a crushing plant.

- They transport the goods from production to bulk halls and on to boats or lorries. "We also have belts from Tratec that are used in the opposite direction - i.e. transporting raw materials from boats into silos," says Nyrud.

HE POINTS OUT that it is far from a coincidence that what are now two co-operating Tratec Solution departments keep winning contracts with Yara.

- They know our standards, deliver the right product at the right time and take our needs into account," says Nyrud.

YARA'S FACILITIES at Herøya is an integrated production system for nitrogen-based products and has the world's and Yara's largest production capacity for so-called NPK fertilisers based on the nitrophosphate method.

Herøya is home to an ammonia plant, three nitric acid plants, three NPK plants and a calcium nitrate plant.
