Tratec Solutions has been commissioned to supply a new stainless steel screen in a closed design to Elkem’s plant in Bremanger. Production is now underway, with delivery scheduled for week 29. The delivery marks a significant technological advance in the production of finished silicon, where a 23-year-old machine is being replaced with modern vibrating equipment designed to increase capacity through a larger screening area, greater operational reliability and improved screening results.

The new screening system provides more precise material separation by changing the separation limit from 3 mm to 2 mm. This is expected to yield an improved quality in the final product, while simultaneously increasing production capacity.

The plant is supplied with high-quality motors from Italvibras and is tailor-made to fit the customer’s existing process equipment. The customisations have been developed in close collaboration between Tratec Solutions and Elkem Bremanger to ensure optimal integration and stable operation. The enclosed design also helps to reduce dust emissions and creates a more controlled process environment, resulting in both better working conditions and increased control over production.
