Our sustainability goals

As one of the largest industrial groups in southern Norway, we take responsibility for developing a greener and more sustainable society. Our sustainability initiatives are based on a selection of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. All of the companies in the Tratec Group work according to these measures, so that together we fulfil our social responsibility. - Together we create value!

In Tratec, we prioritise the following actions within the UN Sustainable Development Goals:

GOOD EDUCATION:

Tratec employees are known for having strong professional competences, because we live by delivering high quality. That's why all our companies follow a thorough competence matrix and training plan, which regularly identifies our internal competence needs. We offer our employees courses, further education and certification. We also organise the working day so that everyone who works in a Tratec company has access to high-quality, inclusive training.

We are an apprenticeship company that annually offers our apprentices relevant training in our many disciplines.

Tratec employs people with gaps in their CVs and we organise our own welding training in collaboration with NAV. We go to great lengths to give people a second chance in the labour market.

Objective:

In the coming years, Tratec will continue to work on skills mapping and skills development among our employees. We will also continue our close collaboration with NAV, so that more people get a second chance in working life.

EQUALITY BETWEEN THE SEXES:

In today's society, there are unfortunately few female applicants for vocational positions. This is a trend we want to reverse! We want to emphasise that our vocational positions are an inclusive work environment for both women and men. That's why we actively participate in education fairs and collaborate with educational institutions. We want to highlight the many benefits of choosing vocational education

Objective:

Tratec emphasises the positive benefits of a gender-balanced industrial environment. We do this through our own communication and in co-operation with educational institutions.

DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC GROWTH:

At Tratec, we don't cut corners when it comes to creating high-quality workplaces.

Most of our employees are unionised, which we also encourage, and we have a working environment committee with a strong focus on safety and well-being in the workplace. We comply at all times with the applicable laws and standards of the Federation of Norwegian Industries.

We also set strict requirements for our subcontractors to comply with applicable laws and standards for decent work. We therefore audit new suppliers' labour conditions and HSE routines. We carry out regular checks on outsourced personnel and check that there is a free trade agreement in the countries we work with.

Objective:

Tratec will use the Transparency Act to further evaluate the working conditions of existing and new suppliers in our supply chain. In this way, we will at all times be able to control that our subcontractors safeguard their employees.

Tratec will also maintain the good routines for HSE and safety checks, so that we can maintain our «0 vision» for the number of injuries in the years ahead.

STOP CLIMATE CHANGE:

All companies in the Tratec Group work actively to reduce our overall climate and environmental footprint. In recent years, we have upgraded our office premises with environmentally friendly solutions. We have also replaced parts of our vehicle fleet with electric cars and upgraded our production facility. It is now heated with energy from a thermal heat recovery plant.

We regularly review which current products or processes we can replace with more environmentally friendly and energy-efficient solutions.
