The Odderøya wastewater treatment plant was built in 1993-94 with distribution, starter and automation panels supplied by Tratec Norcon AS. The plant consists of 10 large PLC systems (Mitsubishi Q) connected in a redundant fibre ring. The plant was originally equipped with a Danfoss Master 2000 SCADA system, which was upgraded to Siemens WinCC OA in 2011-2012. After the treatment plant was completed, a further two treatment plants were integrated together with 120 sewage pumping stations, two landfill gas plants and the industrial pipeline from Vennesla to Kristiansand. A process has been carried out to change and upgrade the PLC systems at the treatment plant. Older Mitsubishi A-series PLCs were replaced with Q-series with full operation in the process. In total, the plant consists of > 20,000 I/O and is built up with several different forms of data communication, from GSM/GPRS via 3G/4G to leased fibre lines, own fibre lines and not least UHF radio communication. The entire system can be remotely controlled from control rooms at the treatment plants as well as from home guard and mobile terminals.

In 2016, we won the operational control contract for the expansion of Odderøya R.A. and that project is now in full swing.

Tratec Norcon has VPN-based remote support and an active service agreement with support and regular reviews.
