M\u00e5neglytt crafts and day centre provides work and activities for around 40 users with various assistance needs. In addition to lighting briquettes, they also make ceramics and textiles.<\/h2>\n

Recently, M\u00e5neglytt called for more paper suppliers, and we wanted to be a part of this.<\/h3>\n

- Here, M\u00e5neglytt is doing environmental work in practice. They have created a new value chain of waste, which also creates jobs for their users.\u00a0<\/em>It doesn't get any better than that,\" says Kristin Brattstad, Marketing Manager at Tratec.

The production of lighter briquettes is circular economy and recycling in practice. The paper comes from companies and public agencies, while burnt candle stubs from the public are turned into the stearin needed in the briquettes.<\/p>\n

- I always look forward to coming to work. It's fun to be out here.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Malena Eriksen picks up freshly lit briquettes that have just been placed in a pot of steaming hot candle wax and places them on a table to dry. She then places them in a large bag before transporting them to the sewing room. Here they are distributed in paper bags sewn from newspaper from the local newspaper Vennesla Tidende. 40 lighter briquettes in each bag and voila, they are ready for sale. The price of NOK 30 per pack does not deter anyone from buying.<\/p>\n

- They sell like hot cakes. People come and buy lots of bags in one go, so they have enough for the winter.<\/em>, says Camilla Moyle, one of the employees at M\u00e5neglytt.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
