Energy efficient solutions<\/h2>\n

There are many different measures you can take to make a company more energy efficient. Of course, it varies from company to company which solutions are best suited to the individual, but the common denominator will always be that it is an investment that will be good for both your wallet and the environment.<\/p>\n

At our head office in Farsund, we have chosen to change the existing lighting inside the building to LED luminaires with room control, introduce demand-controlled heating regulation in all rooms and expand our existing photovoltaic system with the entire\u00a0154 new panels<\/strong>. With these measures, we now expect an annual total reduction in our energy consumption of 54%! These are measures that will undoubtedly be very profitable for both us and the environment for many years to come!<\/p>\n

Our new photovoltaic system<\/h3>\n

Photovoltaic systems are more popular than ever before, and increased electricity prices have really reversed the cost-benefit effect. In recent years, we've seen a wave of companies and private individuals choosing to install their own photovoltaic systems. This is quickly proving to be a smart investment.<\/p>\n

As a company, we have already seen that there is a lot of money to be saved by installing our own solar cell system. At our head office in Farsund, we installed solar panels back in\u00a02017<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a023.85 kWp<\/strong>\u00a0large photovoltaic system on our roof. In the period from\u00a02017<\/strong>\u00a0to\u00a02023<\/strong>\u00a0we've had a total energy saving on our building of the entire\u00a0121,000 kWh<\/strong>\u00a0in pure solar energy!<\/p>\n

Now, in 2023, we have chosen to further expand our facility with the entire\u00a0154<\/strong>\u00a0new panels that together have a peak of\u00a065 kWp<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This means that we now have a photovoltaic system totalling\u00a089 kWp<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Our entire photovoltaic system now consists of a total of 244 panels distributed across the entire roof. With a peak production\u00a089 kWp<\/strong>(i.e. the maximum amount the plant can deliver under optimum conditions), we can produce more electricity than we consume on most days during the summer months and sell it back to the grid. That's where the business comes in.<\/p>\n

The system itself is easy to install and does not require any intervention in the building's sealed roof. The solar panels are placed on customised rails that are held in place by a ballast, which means that you never have to break the roof's membrane, ensuring that the roof's tightness can never be compromised. The cables from the solar panels are then routed down to an inverter that allows us to convert the solar panels' direct current into alternating current that can be used inside the building.<\/p>\n

With an inverter, you have full control at all times of how much the plant is producing. All values are entered directly into an app, and during the autumn we'll be fully integrating this with our central control system to give us even better control.<\/p>\n

Replacement of existing light fittings with energy-efficient LED lighting<\/h3>\n

Inefficient lighting in general can be a hidden power thief for many businesses, and we see that several customers have made significant savings by replacing their existing lighting with energy-efficient LED lighting, often supplemented with room control. After the\u00a0The ban on fluorescent lamps came into force this year,<\/a>\u00a0we have seen that even more people have now chosen to look towards new solutions to illuminate their building.<\/p>\n

At our head office in Farsund, we have replaced all our light fittings with LED lighting with associated room control. In total\u00a0159 light fittings.<\/strong>\u00a0With this measure alone, we reduce the energy consumption of our building annually by\u00a038,000 kWh<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Demand-controlled heating regulation in all rooms<\/h3>\n

Previously, our entire building was only regulated up and down in relation to the outside temperature. This meant that the same temperature was maintained everywhere, even in rooms that didn't necessarily need as much heat. This also applied throughout the day, even when there were no people in the building. Now, the heating system is regulated directly room by room, and the system is adjusted downwards to save energy when there are no employees in the offices.<\/p>\n
